PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device reducing a cross section area of a light beam flux and preventing the emission position of the light beam flux from being displaced from a centre, and an image display device using the light source device.SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser light source unit 2 of a light source device 1 is configured by dividing a plurality of semiconductor lasers into two and arranging a first semiconductor laser group 100 and a second semiconductor laser group 200 facing each other with a gap part therebetween. A first mirror group 500 and a second mirror group 600 respectively reflect laser beams emitted from the first semiconductor laser group and the second semiconductor laser group toward the gap part. A third mirror group 700 and a fourth mirror group 800 which are provided in the gap part respectively reflect the laser beams reflected from the first mirror group 500 and the second mirror group 600 to the same direction. A mirror surface of the third mirror group is substantially 90° different from that of the fourth mirror group.
