The invention relates to a CO2-adsorbent material that can be obtained from a synthesis process comprising functionalising an initial mesostructured carbon having at least one system of pores having sizes of between 2 and 50 nm including both limits, a specific surface that is equal to or larger than 200 m2/g and a pore volume equal to or larger than 0,5 cm3/g, with amino groups, by means of incorporating aminated organic molecules into the structure of said carbon. The invention also relates to the actual synthesis method for obtaining the CO2-adsorbent material by means of functionalising the surface of such a mesostructured carbon with amino groups, and to the application of the material in the selective capturing of CO2 in gaseous currents by means of an adsorption-desorption process.
