PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering system or the like that keeps a driver from feeling uncomfortable even when a maneuvering speed of a steering wheel becomes equal to or larger than a predetermined steering speed and an output capable of being generated by an electric motor runs short.SOLUTION: An electric power steering system 100 includes an electric motor 110 that applies an assistive force with which wheels 150 are turned in response to a maneuver performed on a steering wheel 101, and a control unit 10 that controls driving of the electric motor 110. The control unit 10 controls driving of the electric motor 110 on the basis of a capacity use ratio of the electric motor 110 that is a ratio of an output, which is generated by the electric motor 110, to a maximum output which the electric motor 110 can generate so as to control a phenomenon that input torque a driver inputs to the steering wheel 101 suddenly increases. |
