PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device in which a sheet is prevented from entering a paper feeding nip part accompanying attachment of a sheet cassette to a device main body and an image formation device comprising the same.SOLUTION: A paper feeding part 20 comprises: a cassette 110; a paper feeding roller 113; and control means 5. The cassette 110 is freely attachable and detachable to and from a main body housing 10 in a predetermined direction. The paper feeding roller 113 forms a paper feeding nip part N and carries a sheet S at an entrance side of a sheet carrying path extended from the cassette 110 in a direction of carrying the sheet along a direction of the attachment and detachment. The control means 5 blocks the sheet carrying path at the further upstream side in the sheet carrying direction than the paper feeding nip part N in a first state where the cassette 110 is separated from the main body housing 10. Further the control means 5 opens the sheet carrying path in a second state where the cassette 110 is attached to the main body housing 10 and a lift plate 111 is moved up.
