PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor having favorable temperature characteristic and high quantum efficiency capable of emitting yellow light having wide emission spectrum half value width.SOLUTION: The phosphor according to the present embodiment shows a luminescence peak within a wavelength range of 500 to 600 nm when being excited by light having a luminescence peak within a wavelength range of 250 to 500 nm, and is represented by the general formula (1):(MRE)AlSiONC(1) (M is a metal element primarily consisting of Sr, a part of M may be substituted by at least one kind of elements selected from a group consisting of Ba, Ca and Mg, where 0<x≤1, 0.8≤y≤1.1, 2≤z≤3.5, u≤1, 0.03≤w≤0.06 and 13≤u+v+w≤15). |
