PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposer which can detect water leakage quickly and prevent fatal damage of an electric motor.SOLUTION: A disposer includes a charge part which has an opening in the upper part and is charged with kitchen waste through the opening, a crushing chamber connected to the lower part of the charge part, a crusher mechanism arranged in the lower part of the crushing chamber and an electric motor which is arranged in the lower part of the crushing chamber and drives the crusher mechanism. A rotation shaft 14 of the electric motor penetrates the bottom plate of the crushing chamber and protrudes into the crushing chamber. A weir-like part 18 surrounding the rotation shaft 14 is formed on the upper surface of a housing 17 of the electric motor, and first and second water leakage sensors 22 and 23 for detecting presence of water leakage are arranged between the rotation shaft 14 and the weir-like part 18. |
