PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for energy-conversion device use superior in electrode property and arranged to be able to adequately eliminate the interference with an electrode reaction owing to precipitation of carbon in the case of hydrocarbon fuel which is introduced.SOLUTION: An electrode for energy-conversion device use comprises aggregates of silver particles each forming a core, and cerium oxide microparticles which the silver particles are covered with. The electrode for energy-conversion device use is used as a fuel electrode in an energy-conversion device having a solid electrolytic layer made of an oxide ion conductor for converting a chemical energy into an electric energy, and it is used as a fuel generation electrode in an energy-conversion device having a solid electrolytic layer made of an oxide ion conductor for converting an electric energy into a chemical energy.
