PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a light point defect existing at a local part in pixels, without exerting a bad influence on peripheral normal pixels in a short processing time, by turning the light point defect into a dark spot locally.SOLUTION: The method for removing a light point defect of a liquid crystal display panel includes the steps of: detecting a light point defect Db existing in pixels P of a liquid crystal display panel by observation from a side of a color filter substrate; setting an optical axis of a laser beam irradiation device on a position on the color filter substrate, corresponding to the detected light point defect, and making the beam spot size of a laser beam to be radiated correspond to the size of the light point defect; and gradually increasing the output of the laser beam radiated from the laser beam irradiation device, and stopping the output of the laser beam when the light point defect Db observed from the side of the color filter substrate is turned into a black point locally. |
