The present invention relates to a mobile terminal which downloads content by using communication and a control method thereof. The mobile terminal includes a wireless communication unit which downloads content, a display unit which outputs a display bar to show a download progress rate of the content, a user input unit which detects a user input for the display bar, and a control unit which classifies the content into a plurality of portions and selectively downloads at least one of the portions based on the user input.
