Disclosed are systems containing non-ionic liquid imidazoles or blends of imidazoles and amines. Disclosed are methods of their preparation and use including the reduction of carbon dioxide and other volatile compounds from gas streams and liquid streams by contacting the natural gas feed stream with the system comprising the imidazole-amines blends.
