The patent specification relates to an active RFID tag for a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) and a controlling method thereof which forms a modulator of an RFID tag with an active method and provides information on the RFID tag to an adjacent other RFID tag or an RFID reader when the modulator corresponds to a predetermined event condition. The active RFID tag according to the patent specification is the active RFID tag for the USN to transmit information to the adjacent other RFID tag or the RFID reader. The active RFID tag comprises; a power unit; a wake-up producing unit which produces a wake-up signal when the power provided from the power unit is higher than predetermined standard power; a variable clock producing unit which produces a clock based on the power provided from the power unit; a digital control unit which is operated with the power provided from the power unit, provides the power to the wake-up producing unit and the variable clock producing unit when the predetermined event condition is satisfied, and transmits the information pre-stored in a memory based on the produced clock; a modulator which modulates the information transmitted from the digital control unit to an RF signal; and an antenna which transmits the RF signal to the other RFID tag and the RFID reader. |
