Diagnosis and treatment of cancer using anti-ereg antibody

Disclosed is the use of an EREG protein in an isolated sample as a cancer diagnostic marker, wherein the sample used for the diagnosis is an immobilized specimen of a tissue or cell collected from the body of an organism, wherein the EREG protein expressed on a cell membrane is detected. Further disclosed are diagnostic methods using the anti-EREG antibody which specifically binds a cell surface antigen of for detecting cancer.
