Disclosed is a system for modelling a progression of a disease within a population. The system includes a plurality of point-of-care devices, each having a programmable processor. The system also includes an a static database, a dynamic database, a computer modelling component and external device configured to be in communication with the plurality of point-of-care devices. The static database includes static data related to the disease and/or the population and the dynamic database includes dynamic data about the population and individual subjects. The computer modeling component models the data in the static and dynamic databases, thereby modeling the disease within the population. The external device provides instructions to the programmable processor to implement a change in assay protocol based on output from the computer modeling component without having to provide new point-of-care devices. The instructions include at least a step of transferring bodily fluid sample to an individual assay unit (500). |
