An apparatus for allocating resources and a method therefor are provided to reduce control signaling overhead required for the resource allocation in case re-transmission of VoIP packets is frequently required. A method for allocating resources in the mobile communication system comprises the following steps. Packets are transmitted in a continuous resource allocation manner if the frequency of packet transmission(Ntx) is the same or smaller as or than a preset effectiveness frequency(Nper) for continuous resource assignment. If the Ntx is larger than the Nper, the packets are transmitted by using dynamic resources allocated in dynamic resource allocation manner. |
