<p>Disclosed is an island merchandiser (10) comprising at least one module (15, 20, 25, 30) suitable for use in supermarkets to display different products (13) at different temperatures. The island merchandiser (10) comprises first (15) and second (20) merchandiser modules. Each merchandiser module (15, 20) comprises a case having side walls and a rear wall (120) at least partially defining a product display area. The first merchandiser module (15) includes a refrigeration system coupled to the first case and includes an evaporator in communication with the first product display area. The refrigeration system maintains the first product display area within a temperature range below 41 degrees Fahrenheit. The first merchandiser module (15) defines one of a medium temperature module and a low temperature module. The second merchandiser module (20) is positioned next to the first merchandiser module (15) with the rear wall (120) of the second case is in communication with the rear wall of the first case. The second merchandiser module (20) defines one of a high temperature module; ambient temperature module; medium temperature module and low temperature module. A single unitary base (340) is positioned to at least partially support each of the first (15) and second (20) merchandiser modules relative to a support surface. The module defined by the second merchandiser module (20) is different from the first merchandiser module (15).</p> |
