An inertia separation type apparatus for measuring the specimen properties includes an inertia shock machine having a shock rod (40) which moves forward by the increasing pressure of the compressed air supplied to a barrel (20), stops at a position within the barrel (20), and is shot from the barrel (20) by receiving inertial force according to the stop. The inertia separation type apparatus for measuring the specimen properties can perform a shock test without any replacement of a component for a relatively small specimen as well as a specimen having relatively same mechanical impedance to a metal material. In particular, the inertia separation type apparatus for measuring the specimen properties can acquire a stress wave which is always close to a square wave regardless of the properties of a specimen.
