PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously and drastically improve halation and black defects while securing a high frame rate.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes: an imaging part 4 capable of changing an exposure time of an imaging element 11; an illumination part 6 capable of individually adjusting illumination intensity of each region of a plurality of regions obtained by dividing an imaging range; and a control part 7 executing, in parallel, region division illumination control to obtain a region-classified illumination correction amount from a captured image and to perform correction control of the illumination intensity of each region, and exposure time control to obtain an exposure correction amount from the captured image and to perform correction control of the exposure time. The endoscope includes particularly a dynamic range expansion part 24, the imaging part changes the exposure time and performs imaging a plurality of times, the dynamic range expansion part generates a dynamic range expansion image from a plurality of captured images each having the different exposure time, and the control part acquires the region-classified illumination correction amount and the exposure correction amount from the plurality of captured images each having the different exposure time and the dynamic range expansion image. |
