An electrooptical device (100) includes a pad (300), a plurality of organic light-emitting diodes (215), a VCT electrode (250) that is electrically and mutually connected to cathodes of the organic light-emitting diodes (215), and a protection element (312) that is electrically connected to the pad (300) at one end and to the VCT electrode (250) at the other end. The pad (300) may be arranged along each of at least three sides out of outer peripheral sides of a substrate on which the electrooptical device (100) is formed, or may be arranged as one of a plurality of pads arranged along the outer peripheral sides of the substrate.
