摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve electrical skew correction in a writing optical system which can control a writing position in a sub-scanning direction only in the unit of one pixel.SOLUTION: A shift amount in the unit of one pixel is temporarily defined for each area dividing a main-scanning line according to a skew amount detected by skew detection means. Then, the shift amount in the unit of one pixel is determined for each pixel of image data based on the temporal shift amount. In shift determination, the shift amount (M+1) and the shift amount (M) are alternately allocated in the unit of plural pixels with respect to pixels belonging to a predetermined section which is a following section of a leading section of the image data, and the shift amount (M+1) is allocated with respect to pixels belonging to a section following the predetermined section, for the image data related to an area (N+1) in which the shift amount (M+1) is defined temporarily and which is subsequent to an area (N) in which the shift amount (M) is defined temporarily.
