PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure an ink amount in a sub-tank correctly during ink supply in an ink jet recorder having the sub-tank.SOLUTION: A voltage value when constant current is made to flow between a metallic hollow tube connected to a sub-tank and an electrode part disposed at the upper part of the sub-tank, or a current value flowing when constant voltage is applied. When ink is filled in the sub-tank, control is made so that execution intervals of ink detection means are different from an integral multiple of execution intervals of ink supply means. Then, based on a change of the detected voltage value or the voltage value, an ink amount in the sub-tank is determined. |
