SULFUR-MODIFIED NITRILE GROUP-CONTAINING COPOLYMER RESIN, AND APPLICATION THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sulfur-based positive electrode material which enables the achievement of a higher capacity in regard to sulfur-based materials used as a positive electrode material for lithium secondary batteries.SOLUTION: A sulfur-modified nitrile group-containing copolymer resin is produced by causing 50-1000 pts.wt. of sulfur substance to react on 100 pts.wt. of a nitrile group-containing copolymer resin including 70-99.9 mol% of nitrile group-containing monomer units and 0.1-30 mol% of monomer units polymerizable with the nitrile group-containing monomer units. In the sulfur-modified nitrile group-containing copolymer resin, the nitrile group-containing monomer units include at least one kind of units selected from a group consisting of acrylic nitrile group-containing monomer units, cyanogen nitrile group-containing monomer units and fumaric nitrile group-containing monomer units.
