<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic shelf tag system which enhances reliability of electronic shelf tags.SOLUTION: An electronic shelf tag system includes a plurality of electronic shelf tags and a server. The plurality of electronic shelf tags is arranged in association with each of a plurality of items of merchandise. Further, the plurality of electronic shelf tags displays merchandise information related to each of the plurality of associated items of merchandise. The server stores merchandise information related to each of the plurality of items of merchandise in association with each of the plurality of electronic shelf tags. A merchandise information transmission part transmits merchandise information to each of the plurality of electronic shelf tags subsequent to a unique identifier. A response signal reception part receives a response signal. The response signal is a signal transmitted by each of the plurality of electronic shelf tags to notify a user of reception of the merchandise information. A determination part determines an electronic shelf tag having a defect on the basis of the unique identifier transmitted prior to the merchandise information, and the response signal received by the response signal reception part.</p> |
