PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses occurrence of cleaning failure in transfer means.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a primary transfer part 10 for successively transferring (primarily transferring) toner images, of respective colors (components) formed by respective image forming units 2Y, 2M, 2C, 2K, onto an intermediate transfer belt 15; a secondary transfer part 20 for collectively transferring (secondarily transferring) the toner image (toner image obtained by superimposing toner images of respective colors) transferred onto the intermediate transfer belt 15 to a paper sheet P; a fixing part 60 for fixing the secondarily transferred toner image on the paper sheet P; and an image formation controlling part 80 for controlling operation of each unit (each of the parts). The image forming apparatus 1 performs control so that a supply amount of lubricant on a secondary transfer roll 22 is larger when a discharge product is predicted to be frequently generated in the secondary transfer part 20 than when it is generated as a standard, interposes the lubricant between the secondary transfer roll 22 and the discharge product, and allows the discharge product to be easily removed by a cleaning blade 42. |
