PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of toner scattering caused by a peeling current, even in a paper sheet having high smoothness.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus applies a transfer bias to a transfer area between a photoreceptor drum and a transfer belt 26 by a transfer power supply 29, and transfers a toner image on the photoreceptor drum to a paper sheet 12, when the paper sheet 12 passes through the transfer area. The apparatus includes a smoothness sensor 27 for acquiring the smoothness of the paper sheet, a second charging part 6 for increasing the charge amount of toner constituting a toner image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor drum by a first developing part 8, and a control part for controlling the charging bias of the second charging part, based on the information on the smoothness acquired by the smoothness sensor. |
