Provided is a tape cartridge that enables borderless printing to be reliably carried out on labels. The tape cartridge is mounted to a tape printer, and is provided with: label tape (101) having multiple labels (105) provided in the tape length direction, and multiple detection projections (109) provided in the tape length direction so as to correspond to the multiple labels (105); a cartridge case that accommodates the label tape (101); and a platen roller (103) that is accommodated in the cartridge case, and discharges the label tape (101) outside of the cartridge case by rotating. During printing, in the tape length direction, detection leading edges (109a), which constitute the edges of the detection projections (109) on the downstream side in the discharge direction, are positioned on the downstream side in the discharge direction of the labels (105) at label leading edges (105a), which constitute the edges of the labels (105) on the downstream side in the discharge direction. |
