<p>Provided is an inverter-driven rotating electric machine having an electric field relaxation layer capable of electric field relaxation of both the inverter operation frequency voltage and the repeat impulse voltage. The inverter-driven rotating electric machine insulates a coil conductor by using a ground insulation unit inside the core of a stator, provides a corona discharge prevention layer on the outside of the ground insulation unit, on the core side of a coil end unit, and has provided therein an electric field relaxation layer for preventing concentration of an electric field in the end section in the axial direction of the corona discharge prevention layer. The equivalent circuit of the electric field relaxation layer is expressed as a series/parallel circuit comprising a plurality of resistance and capacitance parallel circuits connected in series and the frequency-impedance characteristics thereof are defined by resistance at no more than a reference frequency (fo) and by capacitance at at least the reference frequency (fo). The reference frequency (fo) is electric-field relaxed by resistance at the operation frequency of the inverter and electric-field relaxed by a dielectric constant at the repeat impulse frequency, by being at least the operation frequency (fs) and no more than the repeat impulse frequency (fp).</p> |
