PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize total electric power that is provided to a railway system from a power grid by optimizing energy efficiency of the railway system, for an energy demand of the railway system to be met.SOLUTION: A method optimizes energy consumption of a railway system equipped with a plurality of trains and a plurality of substations connected to a power grid. The method optimizes a control parameter for controlling at least a part of energy consumption of the railway system, to generate an optimized control parameter which minimizes total electric power provided from the power grid so as to satisfy power demand of the railway system. The optimization has a condition which means limitation for operation of the railway system, and the limitation includes a complementarity limitation. Then, the method generates a command which controls energy consumption of the railway system on the basis of the optimized control parameter. |
