1. A method for the treatment of a systemic disease in a cat in need thereof, the method comprising daily administration of a therapeutically effective amount of an angiotensin II receptor 1 (AT-1) antagonist (sartan) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the cat, wherein the sartan is selected from the group consisting of candesartan, eprosartan, irbesartan, losartan, tasosartan, telmisartan, and valsartan, and the therapeutically effective amount of the sartan is from about 0.3 to about 3.0 mg/kg of body weight. |
