PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source for illumination which achieves excellent heat radiation performance.SOLUTION: In a light source for illumination, an enclosure member is formed by a long base and a long translucent cover. The light source for the illumination includes: a substrate placed on the base; and an LED element which is placed on the substrate and is covered by the translucent cover. The base includes: a placement part for placing the substrate; and an enclosure part where at least a part thereof is exposed to the exterior. A lamp component is disposed in a hollow region enclosed by the placement part and the enclosure part.
