PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mandrel for making a stent by braiding.SOLUTION: A mandrel 22 for making a stent by braiding several stent filaments comprises: a cylindrical member; multiple fixed protuberances 48 that are arranged at a front end 44 of the cylindrical member along its circumference length; and multiple protuberances 52 and 56 that protrude from an outer surface of the cylindrical member between a base end 46 and the fixed protuberances. The protruding protuberances adjacent to each other form a channel for receiving at least one of the stent filaments, and at least one of the protruding protuberances is formed in a quadrangular pyramid shape.
