PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe coupling capable of realizing a positive seal performance and improving a piping work efficiency.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a pipe coupling comprising a coupling main body 1 in which an insertion cylinder 4 with a hole part 7 into which a pipe P to be connected is inserted is formed in a protruded manner and having a male thread part 2, and a cap nut 3 threadably fitted to the male thread part 2 of the coupling main body 1. Recessed grooves 9 are formed at an outer peripheral surface 8 of the insertion cylinder 4, the deep portions of the recessed grooves 9 have groove bottom thin walls 13. Under a non-compressed state, an inner peripheral surface 11 of the insertion cylinder 4 is a smooth peripheral surface. When the cap nut 3 and the male thread part 2 of the coupling main body 1 are threadably engaged to each other, the insertion cylinder 4 receives a compression force F from the cap nut 3 in an axial direction, it is plastically deformed into a U-shape or V-shape in such a way that the bottom thin walls 13 protrude in a radial inward direction while a width size of the recessed groove is being decreased and they bite into the outer peripheral surface 14 of the inserted pipe P to be connected to set it against removal. |
