PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument.SOLUTION: A surgical instrument can comprise: a handle; a shaft extending from the handle; and an end effector to rotatably be coupled to the shaft with an articulation joint. The end effector can further have an articulation driver configured to rotate the end effector centering the articulation joint, and an articulation bending lock capable of being configured to optionally resist unintended bending of the end effector at the articulation joint. In various situations, the articulation bending lock can be unlocked with an operation of the articulation driver. In a specific situation, the articulation bending lock can comprise a first one-way lock configured to resist a travel of the articulation driver in a first direction, and a second one-way lock configured to resist a travel of the articulation driver in a second direction. |
