<p>A computer system for providing date reminders and gift recommendations is disclosed. The system receives event, purchase history, and social network data associated with a gift recipient (e.g., a first user). Based on the social network data, the system determines that the gift recipient is connected to a notification recipient (e.g., a second user) on a social network (e.g., the gift recipient and the notification recipient are "friends" on Facebook® or "connected" on LinkedIN®). The system sends a notification to the notification recipient (e.g., via the social network) of a special event (e.g., a birthday) of the gift recipient based on the event data and also recommends gifts for the gift recipient based, at least in part, on the purchase history data.</p> |
