PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of trouble in fixation of images even if a fixing belt deteriorates.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit that forms a developer image on a recording medium; a fixing unit that includes a fixing belt heated by a heater and a pressure roller, and applies heat and pressure to the developer image formed on the recording medium while conveying the recording medium on which the developer image is formed, to fix the developer image on the recording medium; a temperature detection unit that detects a temperature of the fixing belt; and a control unit that controls, when a deterioration determination value based on a temperature detected by the temperature detection unit satisfies conditions indicating that the fixing belt has deteriorated, a temperature of the fixing belt on determination that the fixing belt has deteriorated. |
