PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject information acquisition apparatus which can detect intermixed air bubbles.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition apparatus which acquires information on the inside of a subject by transmitting acoustic waves to the subject and receiving and analyzing the reflected acoustic waves includes: a probe for transmitting and receiving the acoustic waves; a holding member disposed between the subject and the probe for holding the subject; and air bubble detecting means which acquires intensity of the acoustic waves received after a first amount of time calculated based on the time when the acoustic waves reach a prescribed distance after the transmission of the acoustic waves by the probe and detects air bubbles between the subject and the holding member on the basis of the acquired intensity of the acoustic waves. |
