PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform, on image data inputted to an engine controller, a correction for restricting the total amount of toner, and thereby avoid a fault caused by corrected image data being written back to system memory when image formation output is executed on the basis of the corrected image data.SOLUTION: First image data and second image data are acquired from a higher level controller, and the acquired first image data and second image data are combined to generate composite image data. The pixel value of each pixel is corrected on the basis of a relative magnitude of the pixel value of each pixel in the generated composite image data against a preset value, and corrected image data is generated in which the pixel value of each pixel is corrected. The generated corrected image data is temporarily stored, and image formation output is executed by an image formation unit on the basis of the temporarily stored corrected image data. |
