PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a tempered glass member which is capable of performing chamfering processing and suppressing reduction of traverse rupture strength without a complicated process.SOLUTION: A tempered glass piece 10 is formed by irradiating a tempered glass plate with laser beam to form a modified region 7 and cutting off the tempered glass plate by using the modified region 7 as an origin. Then, chamfering of the tempered glass piece 10 is performed by irradiating an edge portion 60 (processing region 70) of the tempered glass piece 10 with laser beam L2 and the modified region 7 is removed from the tempered glass piece 10 to peel the edge portion 60 off from the tempered glass piece 10, by which a tempered glass member is obtained. According to this manufacturing method, it becomes possible to perform chamfering processing, remove the modified region 7, and suppress reduction of traverse rupture strength without undergoing a conventional complicated process. |
