The present invention relates to a terminal and an operating method for the same and, particularly, to a method for selecting a part of text displayed on a screen. The operating method for a terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: displaying an electronic document on a screen; detecting a user's input for selecting text in a first region of the screen; and moving the electronic document to a second region of the screen if the user's input is detected.
