<p>Provided are a backlight device and a display device which prevent a reduction in the display quality of an image due to positional deviation of a light guide plate. The backlight device, which is provided to the display device, comprises: a light guide plate plate (5); a front chassis (pressing member) (4) which is disposed at the front of the light guide plate (5); and a heat sink (support member) (7) which has a plate-like connecting part (connecting plate) (71) which is disposed at the side of the light guide plate (5) and to which other components are connected. A through-hole (72) is formed in the connecting part (71), and a nut (10), which is necessary for connecting a bezel (1) and the front chassis (4) using a screw (11), is press-fitted into the through-hole (72). Within the front end part of the connecting part (71), the section that is closest to the through-hole (72) is a recessed section (73). Even if the front end part of the connecting part (71) is deformed by the nut (10) being pressed into the through-hole (72), the deformation is counteracted by the recessed section (73), and the connecting part (71) does not interfere with the front chassis (4). Thus, positional deviation of the front chassis (4) and the light guide plate (5) does not occur.</p> |
