Embodiments provided herein are related to prosthetic heart valve leaflets (140) comprising one or more imageable elements (150a) that allow for visualization of the movement of the leaflets using imaging techniques, such as, but not limited to fluoroscopy, x-ray, ultrasound, and MRI. When visualized using visualization techniques, the movement of the imageable element is directly related to the movement of the leaflet to which it is coupled, and therefore the movement of the leaflet may be determined.
