PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller with geometrical characteristics that is more economical, easily manufactured and less time consuming in manufacture than machined rollers.SOLUTION: A roller 100 for forming heat transfer elements includes a central shaft 110 and a plurality of roller elements 120. Each roller element 120 has a geometrical characteristic formed along an outer periphery thereof. The roller elements 120 are cut from metallic sheets by a method such as laser cutting. The roller elements 120 stacked on the central shaft 110 configure the roller 100 with a circumferential surface 150 corresponding to the geometrical characteristic of the stacked roller elements 120.
