PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus including a hard disk drive (HDD) having a locking function using a password, such as MPF, shortening a time required for password unlocking processing of the HDD when recovering from a power saving state to a normal power state, while retaining confidentiality of important data in the HDD.SOLUTION: A password management register retains, as password management information, that whether or not data with high confidentiality is stored in an HDD. When recovering from the power saving state to a normal power state, the password management register immediately cancels a password lock of the HDD in a case that data with high confidentiality is not stored, and only in a case that data with high confidentiality is stored, conditionally executes a normal password lock canceling processing.
