<p>A control joint sealing against gas or water around conduits passing through concrete slab floors may also mechanically isolate the conduit from the slab in relation to radial and axial motion. The joint comprises an impermeable flexible sheet having a central hole, welded around the edge of the hole to one end of a sleeve of the same material. In use, the sleeve surrounds the conduit, and the sheet is sealed on to a damp course membrane underlying the slab. A resilient surround is optionally placed between the conduit and the slab.</p> |
