PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument.SOLUTION: A surgical instrument comprises: an end effector; a shaft; and a housing extending from the shaft toward a proximal side. The surgical instrument has an articulation assembly configured to bend the end effector relative to the shaft at an articulation, a discharge assembly configured to discharge, for example, plural staples, and a locking member movable between a locked form and unlocked form. The housing can detachably be coupled with the shaft when the locking member is in the unlocked form. The housing has a motor configured to drive at least one of the discharge assembly and the articulation assembly, and a controller to communicate with the motor. The controller is configured to start the motor to reset at least one of the discharge assembly and the articulation assembly to the home state when the locking member is moved between the locked form and the unlocked form. |
