PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method for avoiding the degradation of print image quality caused by surface staining, toner dropping, or the like, in an electrophotographic system.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus including an electrostatic latent image carrier 101 carrying an electrostatic latent image, a developer carrier 104 carrying a developer for developing the electrostatic latent image, and a developer supply member supplying toner to the developer carrier, a bias voltage is applied to at least one of the electrostatic latent image carrier and the developer carrier, so that a photoreceptor surface potential being a potential difference between the surface potential of the electrostatic latent image carrier and the surface potential of the developer carrier, during a non-printing operation is larger than the photoreceptor surface potential during a printing operation. Thus, deteriorated toner included in the toner is consumed. |
