PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of separating adhesion of a recording medium to a fixing rotating body at the occurrence of paper jam, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A fixing device 1 conveys a recording medium 2 while holding the recording medium 2 between a fixing roller 3 and a pressure roller 6 with a fixing belt 5, to fix a toner image on the recording medium 2. A pressure roller contact/separation unit 7 drives the pressure roller 6 to make pressing force of the pressure roller 6 variable. When paper jam occurs and the recording medium 2 is reversely conveyed toward the upstream side, an upstream-side guide member 13 provided on the upstream side of a fixing nip N separates the adhesion of the recording medium 2 to the fixing belt 5. |
