PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic solution for electrolytic capacitors which is designed for middle and high voltages, high in voltage resistance and electric conductivity, and superior in chemical produceability.SOLUTION: An electrolytic solution for electrolytic capacitors designed for middle and high voltages comprises: a secondary carboxylic acid compound having an ester group in a molecule, and expressed by the general formula (I), or preferably the general formula (II), and a divalent carboxylic acid compound and/or a salt thereof. (In the formulas, Rand Rindependently represent an alkyl group having 1-8 carbon atoms, and "n" represents an integer of 2-8.)
