PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of maintaining a cleaning performance of a cleaning brush (a first cleaning member) which cleans the surfaces of a photoreceptor (a latent image carrier) and a charging roller (a charging member) and thereby allows for printing of a stable high-quality image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is provided with a first power supply (first bias supply means) for supplying a bias to a charging roller 4 which uniformly charges a surface of a photoreceptor 3, and a second power supply (second bias supply means) for supplying a bias to a cleaning brush 8. A sub cleaning member A (a second cleaning member) adjacent to the cleaning brush 8 is arranged. At the timing when the cleaning capability of the cleaning brush 8 is saturated, the sub cleaning member A is moved to contact with the cleaning brush 8 to clean the cleaning brush 8. |
