The present invention relates to a method and system for performing fraud screening and choosing whether to accept or deny an online transaction. The system includes a server that 5 receives a transaction request and performs a first fraud screen based on transaction information of the requested transaction. The server further determines which operation to perform: whether to issue a final response right away (accept, reject) or whether to gather more information before issuing a final response.
