PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus that support papers with various conditions, and also reduce costs.SOLUTION: A fixing device supporting a plurality of paper-feed widths includes a rotation member that conveys and increases a temperature of a sheet-like recording medium to fix a toner, a plurality of temperature sensors that detect a surface temperature on the outside of the rotation member, a plurality of linear heating members that are provided inside the rotation member and parallel to a rotation shaft of the rotation member and each has a heat generating part at a part thereof, and control means for controlling a heating state by the heating members. Each of the heat generating parts of the plurality of heating members is provided so as not to be overlapped with each other in a direction of paper-feed width orthogonal to a conveyance direction of the sheet-like recording medium. The temperature sensors are placed at positions corresponding to the heat generating parts that are used in printing on the sheet-like recording medium having the smallest paper-feed width, and are not placed at positions corresponding to the heat generating parts adjacent to the above heat generating parts. The control means controls the heating members according to the temperature sensors. |
